Fire Cinnabar Macules appear across the entire body in shades of red and purple, appearing similar to "eruptive macules" original: 發斑 (Fābān); typically refers to the systemic rashes seen in infectious fevers like typhus or measles. However, those macules appear and then dissipate quickly, unlike Fire Cinnabar, where the entire body remains red and develops sores.
In common eruptive macules, heat is constrained within the interior and manifests on the exterior; in Fire Cinnabar, the heat is constrained on the exterior and moves toward the interior. That which manifests externally has the opportunity to dissipate day by day, whereas that which moves inward has the tendency to deepen day by day. Therefore, common macules are a mild condition, while Fire Cinnabar is a severe one.
However, there are two types of Fire Cinnabar: Red Fire Cinnabar and White Fire Cinnabar. In the red type, the skin is dry; in the white type, the skin is damp. Although they seem different, the heat is constrained outside the "skin and fur" a traditional term for the outermost layer of the body and its defensive system and enters from the outside toward the inside. Thus, there is essentially no difference between the red and white types.
Generally speaking, the red type is purely fire-heat of the Lung Meridian Lung Meridian: the energetic pathway associated with the respiratory system and the health of the skin. If the color is tinged with white, it is instead fire-heat of the Scapula Meridian original: 胛經 (Jiǎjīng); likely referring to the Small Intestine Meridian, which passes through the shoulder blade area. Therefore, for the red type, one must simply clear the Lung...
