When a human bite creates a sore where the skin is broken and blood flows, it often leads to ulceration and rotting. Why is a bite from one human to another so severe? One might not realize that when two people are fighting and one resorts to biting, their Qi of Indignation and Anger original: 忿怒之氣 (fènnù zhī qì). In traditional Chinese medicine, extreme emotions are believed to physically affect the body's chemistry, making secretions like saliva "toxic" during fits of rage. is extremely imbalanced. When the heart is so agitated and enraged, how could the mouth and teeth not be poisonous? This is the reason for the subsequent rotting. Therefore, as soon as the body is wounded and the bite is bleeding, treatment should be applied immediately. If the toxic Qi has not yet penetrated deeply, the wound will naturally be easy to heal.
The formula calls for vinegar to wash the broken wound. If tortoise shell is unavailable, soft-shelled turtle shell original: 鼈甲 (biējiǎ) is also excellent. One must never simply allow the wound to ulcerate until the toxic Qi has penetrated deep within.
