Six times six is thirty-six; this number multiplied by itself|original: 自相乘; zì xiāng chéng yields one hundred thousand, two hundred ninety-six. Calculation: $36 \times 36 = 1,296$.
　　Divided among six people, each person receives two hundred sixteen. Calculation: $1,296 \div 6 = 216$. Note that $36 \times 6 = 216$.

Five times six is thirty; this number multiplied by itself yields nine hundred. Calculation: $30 \times 30 = 900$.
　　Divided among five people, each person receives one hundred eighty. Calculation: $900 \div 5 = 180$. Note that $36 \times 5 = 180$.
