original: 沐浴 (Mùyù). This is the second of the twelve stages of life. It represents the period after birth when a child is washed. In divination, it often symbolizes sensitivity, vanity, or "Peach Blossom" (romantic) complications.
A man encountering this state is destined for solitude;
A woman encountering this is destined for separation.
How can "Bathing" be compatible with an auspicious position?
Furthermore, if the "Leading and Following" stars are within it,
Studying will surely lead to passing the Imperial Examinations;
Do not compare this to other stars and call it unlucky.
The "Peach Blossom Bathing" is too scandalous to hear of—
Uncles, aunts, and cousins marrying amongst themselves.
This refers to "incestuous" or socially inappropriate relationships within a clan.
If the Day, Month, Hour, or Conception Pillars are thus afflicted,
Surely one knows the lack of righteousness that disrupts human relations.
The "Salt Pool" without an official salary is called "Peach Blossom,"
Salt Pool (Xiánchí): A star associated with carnal desire and physical attraction.
Mostly caused by wine and lust disrupting the master’s house.
If, furthermore, sinister stars come to guard or break the position,
One may die of wasting diseases or scrofula—do not lament.
Scrofula (Luǒ): A swelling of the lymph nodes, historically associated with a "wasting" or "unclean" constitution.
If a woman’s destiny □? encounters "Bathing,"
It brings ruin to two or three households—never enough.
Parents leave their hometowns and life is not long;
One must beware of weeping for the firstborn son or daughter.
When destiny encounters "Crowning and Banding," few people recognize it;
original: 冠帶 (Guāndài). This is the third stage of life, representing adolescence or "coming of age" where one receives the formal hat and belt of adulthood. It is generally a more stable and positive stage than Bathing.
The early life is poor and cold, but mid-life is favorable.
Furthermore, if "Noble People" are added to the original position,
Success is achieved and fame follows—what reason is there to doubt?
Noble People (Guìrén): Auspicious stars or "benefactors" who provide protection and assistance in one's career.
