original: 冠帶 (Guàndài). This third stage of the life cycle represents the transition to adulthood, named after the ancient ritual of "capping" (Guan) for men and "girding" (pinning the hair) for women at the age of maturity.
If a person’s fate encounters "Capping and Girding,"
Why should they inherit the winnowing basket and fur coat?
The "winnowing basket and fur coat" (ji-qiu) is a traditional metaphor for continuing the family profession and legacy.
Brothers, wives, and children will suffer no harm or hardship,
Simply because the "Flowery Canopy" star was present within the "Womb" stage.
Flowery Canopy (Huágài): A symbolic star associated with intelligence, artistic talent, and sometimes solitary religious inclinations.

"Arrival at Officialdom" and "Imperial Prosperity" are most marvelous;
If one does not become the Top Scholar, one will at least pass the high examinations.
Top Scholar (Zhuàngyuán): The candidate who ranked first in the highest level of the Imperial Examination system.
One must carefully calculate when Wealth and Nobility align with this Office;
Then surely one shall wear the yellow imperial robes of the court.
original: "yellow armor and lotus clothes" (huángjiǎ guà héyī), referring to the prestigious status of a successful examination candidate.
original: 官 (Guān). This heading completes the term 臨官 (Línguān). In Bazi, this stage represents the prime of life and professional success.
When "Arrival at Officialdom" and "Imperial Prosperity" meet together,
Even if your rank and title are already high, you shall have worldly wealth.
You will certainly carry on the family legacy and bring honor to your ancestors;
Your name and reputation will surely reach the gates of heaven.
original: 衰 (Shuāi). This stage represents the beginning of the downward curve in the life cycle—a loss of vigor and the retreat from the peak of "Imperial Prosperity."
If the "Melodic Element" meets with "Decline," "Sickness," and "Death" repeatedly,
Melodic Element (Nàyīn): A complex system of astrology that assigns one of the Five Elements to pairs of years in the sixty-year cycle based on musical phonology.
Only if auspicious gods come to provide rescue and help,
Can one find good fortune amidst the balance of success and failure;
Only then can calamity be transformed into blessing and prosperity.
original: 病 (Bìng). The stage following "Decline," representing the physical and spiritual weakening of the life force before "Death."
If "Decline" and "Sickness" both appear and meet with "Death,"
One’s food and clothing will be insufficient, and life will not be prosperous.
A person may reach old age without a wife or children,
And lingering illnesses will continue until the very end.
