Once absolute sincerity is established, one must forever sever the transmission of worldly attachments. If those things cast aside are not fully removed, there is a fear they will never be truly cut away.
To not remove them is to harbor the heart of the "Great Household" This likely refers to the collective worldly burdens, pride, or sins associated with her high-ranking family lineage. By following this teaching to wash away defilement, even if the mind is not yet perfectly void, one remains resolute. Sins can create obstacles in the heavens, but by breaking through to purity and repenting for transgressions, both the body and the heavens become pure. From this state, all good things are born. One will enjoy constant protection in this life and be born into the heavenly realms in the world to come. Through escaping original: "脱出"; referring to liberation from the cycle of suffering the cycle, she shall obtain the name of the Buddha Mother original: "仏母"; a title of supreme honor for a female devotee, or a reference to the personification of Wisdom (Prajnaparamita).
Those who uphold and carry the Dharma The Buddhist teachings or Universal Law will receive the rubbing of the crown A ritual blessing where a deity or master touches the head of a devotee to grant empowerment and wear the robes of the Buddha. They shall continue their spiritual practice in future lives; in this life, they plant the seeds of many virtues. Within a yojana A traditional Indian measure of distance, roughly 7 to 9 miles, no person shall find opportunity to cause them harm. Evil thoughts will be forever severed and from this moment eliminated. In the future, according to their vows, they shall surely be born into the heavenly realms.
The practice of the Law is perfected through the "Three Lights" The sun, moon, and stars. In the midst of seeking blessings, the most important is the offering of pure and fragrant food, prepared appropriately for the presiding officials. This act inherits the meaning of life and connects to being born in the heavens. Because of these offerings of food and drink, one’s heart’s desires will naturally be fulfilled. Through this, the palaces are proclaimed, the body is refined, and one flies like a trace of lightning. One travels together with those who give their true wealth to the chest of the Triple Gem The Buddha, the Dharma (Teachings), and the Sangha (Community). One must not act with a hollow mind. By severing our ties to worldly wealth, the things we use shall increase until the storehouses are full. We order? that you surely receive the prosperous and precious rewards of a wealthy house. Those who are eternally sincere see their days shine like the sun. Even the "Grain Dragon" original: "谷龍"; possibly a local protective deity or a symbol of agricultural abundance and the wise ones are not as great as the heart of the Buddha. If this root of goodness grows fiercely, one can leave behind the "two phases" of the world. With this expansive wealth of the Seven Treasures Gold, silver, lapis lazuli, seashell, agate, pearl, and carnelian, one shall walk alone along the eternal path of abundance.
The Essence of the Three Teachings
During the summer retreat, the disciples read and lecture. From the highest to the lowest, including the Root Teacher and the Zen Master, they gather. In the "Cool Kitchen" A reference to the kitchens of Mt. Wutai, the earthly home of Manjusri, they establish the presence of Manjusri The Bodhisattva of Wisdom. Like the gathering at the Seven-Leaf Cave The site of the first council after the Buddha's passing, for five intervals between the new moon and the full moon, the Eight Great Dragon Kings and the Four Heavenly Kings Guardians of the directions and protectors of the faith gather within the city. Among the sands of the Ganges, all the sages of a single lifetime do not violate their original vows. Together they rouse their compassionate hearts and descend to this practice hall. Here, in this pavilion, they perform for the state, leading the lost to equality and benefit. For a long time, sins have been accumulated; thus, we forcefully establish this great assembly of offerings. Through Compassion, Samantabhadra The Bodhisattva of Universal Virtue/Action responds to our vows with peaceful future blessings. Receiving this compassionate joy, we vow for the divine? spirits and all talented ones to be sincere. After the teachings? are washed clean, for the sake of one's own body, one truly? turns the Wheel of the Law.
Increasing and Renewing Benefits
Together we initiate this goodness and establish the subtle banner of the Law. We manifest the auspicious image, which transforms this noble house. Together we perform with deep sorrow for the ten thousand lusts and desires. We practice to present this subtle image, recognizing that the "false birth" of vanity is a hollow sign. Although things may be covered, they remain deeply pure.
Observing the breeze among the leaves, the spirit shines with clarity. After washing away the illness of "broken color" Likely referring to physical decay or spiritual impurity, the talismans of the spirits and ghosts are exhausted, replaced by the celebration of auspicious blessings. Above, the purity and harmony of Heaven is loved by all, scented with an otherworldly fragrance. Below, it reaches the Earthly Prefecture, where the Dragon Spirits assist the Way. A beautiful scent fills the air. Within this hidden treasury, we proclaim the celebration of the path. We establish this Lotus Sutra Assembly A ritual gathering centered on the teachings of the Lotus Sutra, emphasizing universal salvation to discuss and send off sins and ailments for five leagues. By one's own hand, the "dust obstacles" Sins/Kleshas of Birth and Death Samsara from previous lives are cleared. In this temporary world, one is often unaware, pulled by karmic connections to create both good and evil. Afterward, the "three wives' jars" A metaphor for domestic or karmic entanglements are deep, and the "six tremors" follow one's long-standing passions. Wandering through birth and death, one fails to find a good cause. Now, we remove these obstacles through the precepts? and the practice of many blessings. If there are difficulties in the future, do not let the body fly away; follow the writing and remain prepared. The precepts involve a long journey of karma; the "bow" that severs it must be mended. Following the gate of practice in this way, the departing disciples will surely reach the ultimate Vow.
