Positioning
This is the dou A "peck," 1/10th of a shi. unit; the circle moves backwards to determine the place. Harmonize and obtain the result.
(Six) original: 吝 (lìn); here used as a mnemonic marker for the digit six. Chant: Five times six gives thirty; change the six to a three.

These rules are used for division by 5; since dividing by 5 is the same as multiplying by 2 and shifting the decimal.
For five-one, double it to make two. 1 ÷ 5 = 0.2
For five-two, double it to make four. 2 ÷ 5 = 0.4
For five-three, double it to make six. 3 ÷ 5 = 0.6
For five-four, double it to make eight. 4 ÷ 5 = 0.8
When meeting five, advance ten. 5 ÷ 5 = 1.0; move to the next rod on the abacus.
