original: "三才圖會" (Sancai Tuhui). The "Three Realms" or "Three Powers" (Sancai) refers to the traditional Chinese cosmological triad of Heaven, Earth, and Humanity. This work, compiled by Wang Qi and his son Wang Siyi and published around 1609, is a massive encyclopedia (leishu) designed to capture the entirety of human knowledge through both text and detailed woodcut illustrations.
