original: "武備志" (Wubei Zhi). This is the title of the most comprehensive military encyclopedia in Chinese history. Compiled by Mao Yuanyi and published in 1621, it spans 240 volumes and covers every aspect of warfare known at the time.

Military Preparedness Manual (Wubei Zhi) The title literally breaks down as 'Wu' (Military/Martial), 'Bei' (Preparation/Readiness), and 'Zhi' (Record/Treatise/Manual). It was created during the late Ming Dynasty to address the growing military threats to the empire.
