Sugar Cane Collected Notes on the Classicoriginal: 別錄 (Bielu). Short for the Mingyi Bielu (Supplementary Records of Famous Physicians), a Han-era expansion of the earliest pharmaceutical texts.
Granulated Sugar Tang Materia Medicaoriginal: 唐本 (Tangben). Refers to the Xinxiu Bencao, the world’s first official government-commissioned pharmacopoeia, produced during the Tang Dynasty (659 AD).
Rock Sugar Tang Materia Medicaoriginal: 石蜜 (Shimi), literally "stone honey." Historically, this referred to hard, crystallized sugar blocks or rock candy.
Thorn Honey Supplement to the Materia Medicaoriginal: 拾遺 (Shiyi). Refers to the Bencao Shiyi by Chen Zangqi (c. 739 AD), which added many "lost" or exotic items to the medical canon.; includes Manna from the Western Regions
