It treats chronic coughs. During the twelfth lunar month original: 臘月, layue, specifically on the day of the La Festival original: 臘日, lari, obtain the bird and marinate it with the five spices before roasting. It may also be prepared as a soup or ground into a powder to be taken as honey-bound pills. If not obtained on the day of the La Festival, it cannot be used for this purpose. According to Meng Shen.
The Eyeballs
Primary Indications: Grind the eyeballs together with breast milk and drop the mixture into the eyes. This brightens the vision, allowing a person to see objects even beyond the clouds. According to Chen Zangqi An 8th-century pharmaceutical scholar.
