The Lanshan (襴衫) was a distinctive full-length robe with a wide border at the hem, worn by scholars and students of the Imperial Academy during the Ming Dynasty. The Beizi (褙子) was a versatile outer garment with parallel collars and side slits, popular among both men and women for its elegant, straight silhouette.
Facial ornaments (面花, mianhua) refer to decorative stickers or paintings—often in the shape of flowers or insects—applied to the forehead or cheeks, a fashion trend that reached its height in earlier dynasties but remained a subject of historical interest in the Ming.
