Three RealmsThe 'Sancai' (literally 'Three Powers') refers to the cosmological triad of Heaven, Earth, and Humanity. In the context of this book, it signifies a comprehensive encyclopedia encompassing the entire universe and human experience.
This monumental work was compiled by the scholar Wang Qi and his son Wang Siyi during the Ming Dynasty (published circa 1609). It is one of the most famous illustrated encyclopedias in Chinese history, featuring detailed woodblock prints on subjects ranging from astronomy and geography to biology and the arts.
