original: "武備志" (Wubeizhi). This work, compiled by the scholar-official Mao Yuanyi and presented to the throne in 1621, is the most comprehensive military encyclopedia in Chinese history. It consists of 240 volumes and over 2,000 illustrations.

WubeizhiLiterally "Records of Military Readiness." It covers five main categories: Strategy, Tactics, Logistics, Martial Arts/Weapons, and Cartography. It is famous for containing the "Mao Kun Map," which preserves the sailing routes of Admiral Zheng He’s treasure fleet.
