Original title: Sancai Tuhui (三才圖會). The term "Three Realms" (Sancai) refers to the traditional Chinese cosmological triad of Heaven, Earth, and Humanity. Compiled by Wang Qi and his son Wang Siyi, and published around 1609 during the Ming Dynasty, this work is a massive pictorial encyclopedia intended to capture the breadth of human knowledge through both text and detailed woodcut illustrations.
