Botanical Illustration:
The woodblock print depicts the Swelling-Vanisher plant in a traditional style. It features a sturdy central stem that branches out into several stems bearing leaves with noticeably serrated (toothed) edges. The entire plant is shown emerging from a detailed root system anchored in a small, stylized grassy mound, a common artistic convention in Ming and Qing dynasty pharmacopeias to indicate the plant's natural habitat.
