# Collected Illustrations of the Three Realms
Original Chinese: 三才圖會 (Sancai Tuhui). Published in 1609 during the Ming Dynasty, this is a monumental pictorial encyclopedia compiled by the scholars Wang Qi and Wang Siyi. The "Three Realms" (Sancai) of the title refers to the traditional triad of Heaven, Earth, and Humanity, representing the compilers' ambitious goal to catalog all known things in the universe.
