An oval imperial seal at the top of the page contains the characters for the "Hall of Spreading Elegance" (Chizao Tang), an imperial library located in the Forbidden City. This seal indicates that the volume belonged to the private collection of the Emperor.
original: "Qinding Siku Quanshu Huiyao" (欽定四庫全書薈要). This title refers to a prestigious, condensed edition of the largest book collection in Chinese history. While the standard "Complete Library" was meant for general government use, this "Essentials" (Huiyao) version was meticulously hand-copied specifically for the Emperor's personal study.
