The "Jingyou Classic" refers to a Song Dynasty (1034–1038) manual on Dunjia divination commissioned by the Emperor. "Dunjia" (Hidden Gates) is a complex form of cosmic calculation used by ancient Chinese generals to determine the best time and direction for movement.
Great YinOriginal: Taiyin. In military divination, this represents a position of concealment, stealth, and celestial protection. By "entering" the Great Yin, an army was believed to become invisible to the enemy or shielded by divine forces.
The Classic of the Three Primes states: If you wish to deploy the army, you should face the appropriate direction and call the name of the deity of that direction. Then, walk sixty paces and turn left to enter the Great Yin.
The Direct Symbol ZhifuThe presiding or "chief" spirit in a Dunjia chart that governs the current time cycle. two positions ahead in the Yang cycle is the Great Yin; two spirits behind in the Yin cycle is also the Great Yin. The Six Ding A group of six Daoist spirits (the "Jade Maidens") associated with the Yin aspects of the sexagenary cycle, often invoked for protection and invisibility. are also called the Great Yin; all of these are the same.
