Take the fifth tally and place it upon Wu the Horse; the 7th Earthly Branch. Loudly call for the Black Tortoise original: Xuanwu; the dark warrior deity of the North to descend. Another incantation says:

“The Soaring Snake winds and turns, entering the realm of the Monkey.”

Then move the sixth tally from the position of Si the Snake and place it upon Shen the Monkey. Loudly call for the Six Harmonies 六合 (Liuhe) | A benevolent spirit or coordination of cosmic forces used in divination to descend.

If the ritual is performed on a Wu Horse day, then designate one tally for the position of Wu. Another incantation says:

“The horse enters the Dragon Spring to drink from the well water.”

Then move the tally from the position of Wu the Horse and place it upon Chen the Dragon. Another incantation says:

“The sheep and the rooster swap places, entering the realm of the Rooster.”

Then move the tally from the position of Wei the Goat and place it upon You the Rooster. Another incantation says:

“The ape leaps and bounds, fleeing north to the Boar.”

Then move the tally from the position of Shen the Monkey and place it upon Hai the Pig. Another incantation says:

“The rooster flies and flutters down into the sheep’s pen.”

Then move the tally from the position of You the Rooster and place it upon Wei the Goat. Another incantation says:

“The dog enters the rat’s hole to catch its young.”

Then move the tally from the position of Xu the Dog and place it upon Zi the Rat. Another incantation says:

“The pig enters the tiger’s den and seeks its own death.”

Then move the tally from the position of Hai the Pig and place it upon Yin the Tiger.
