Luanyang Wagon Battalion In the 11th year of the Wanli era [1583], due to the dismissal and reduction of "guest troops" kebing from Ningxia, this battalion was newly established with three thousand local recruits.The Ming military often used "guest troops" from other provinces for border defense, but eventually transitioned to "local recruits" tuzhu to reduce costs and ensure long-term stability.
