This monumental work, titled Zhiwu Mingshi Tukao in Chinese, was authored by Wu Qijun (1789–1847) during the Qing Dynasty. It is considered one of the most important precursors to modern botany in China, meticulously documenting over 1,700 plants with detailed illustrations and descriptions of their medicinal and practical uses.
