Authored by Wu Qijun of Gushi Wu Qijun (1789–1847) was a high-ranking official and scholar from Gushi County, Henan Province. He compiled this work while serving in various provinces, observing plants firsthand.

Proofread and Published by Lu Yinggu of Mengzi Lu Yinggu was a scholar-official from Mengzi, Yunnan, who oversaw the publication of the "Mubanshu" (woodblock) edition in 1848.
