Massachusetts

The state of Massachusetts original: "馬沙朱碩斯" (Mǎ-shā-zhū-shuò-sī) is bordered on the east by the Atlantic Ocean original: "阿蘭底" (Ā-lán-dǐ), on the south by the Atlantic and Rhode Island original: "哀特底格律愛倫" (Āi-tè-dǐ-gé-lǜ-ài-lún), on the west by New York original: "紐育" (Niǔ-yù), and on the north by New Hampshire. The land of Vermont original: "淮門" (Huái-mén), though here used to describe the broader rugged region is craggy and possesses many large mountains.

In the year 1620 the first year of the Taichang era of the Ming Dynasty, English people who formerly followed the Catholic faith Wei Yuan likely refers to the Pilgrims/Puritans here, though he describes them as "Catholic" or following the old religious ways in conflict with "new British laws", seeking to escape new English regulations, fled to Plymouth original: "勃士茂" (Bó-shì-mào); phonetically similar to Portsmouth, but the date 1620 identifies it as Plymouth to settle in the vacant territory. They soon expanded their cultivation as far as Virginia original: "洼治尼阿" (Wā-zhì-ní-ā), but because they were on poor terms with the indigenous people, they moved their cultivation to Massachusetts.

The population flourished and increased daily. In 1692 the 31st year of the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty, the region returned to the jurisdiction of the Kingdom of Great Britain. When the various colonies grew resentful and rebelled to establish their independence, Massachusetts also joined them with one heart in turning against Britain and aligning with America original: "彌利堅" (Mǐ-lì-jiān). They established a Governor original: "總領" (zǒnglǐng) and a Deputy Governor original: "副總" (fùzǒng).
