The classification and compilation of the collection list are arranged chronologically. Furthermore, the Painting of Bian Zhuangzi Stabbing the Tiger original: "Bian Zhuangzi Ci Hu Tu" is attributed to Wei Xie in the current edition, rather than Cao Mao; thus, the titles and names have been verified and corrected. Wang Kentang’s Bi Chen original: "Notes from the Brush" states that because the painting manuals compile records from various families or are written by different subordinates without a single editor, there are instances of internal contradiction. For example, in the landscape section, Wang Shiyuan is praised for having the excellence of various masters, yet in the architecture section, he is dismissed as a menial worker original: "zao li", meaning a low-ranking laborer. Similarly, the entry for Xu Daoning claims that Lord Zhang Wenyi praised him deeply, which is also likely not written by Emperor Huizong himself; it appears that the preface was not analyzed thoroughly, but the inconsistencies pointed out are indeed valid.
