This page presents a detailed woodcut muke a print created by carving an image into a block of wood, which is then inked and pressed onto paper depicting the scenic and spiritual landscape shanshui literally "mountain and water," the traditional Chinese term for landscape art of Jingshan Mountain.
The illustration is a panorama spanning two panels:
On the left, the viewer sees steep, layered mountain peaks rising dramatically. Tucked within dense groves of pine trees is a multi-storied pagoda a sacred, tiered tower often found in Buddhist temple complexes. Nearby, several traditional pavilions and terraces tingtai elevated structures designed for rest and enjoying the view are built into the hillsides.
On the right side of the image, the title Jingshan Mountain is inscribed in the upper corner. A bridge connects different parts of the terrain, while the background shows receding mountain ranges partially obscured by stylized clouds an artistic technique used to represent mist and provide a sense of depth.
The entire scene serves as a topographical record of Jingshan, a site famous for its historic temples and tea culture.
