Mount Wozhou

original: "Wozhou Shan." Located in Xinchang, this mountain was a renowned center for "Metaphysical Studies" during the Wei and Jin dynasties and later became a primary destination for hundreds of poets during the Tang Dynasty. It is famously situated near the scenic Wozhou Lake.

Hall of the True Lord original: "Zhenjun Dian." This temple is dedicated to a "True Lord" (a Taoist or folk deity). In this region, it often honors local figures elevated to godhood for their protection of the people, such as the legendary King of Wuyue or specific Taoist immortals.

Pavilion for Releasing Cranes original: "Fanghe Ting." The crane is a traditional symbol of longevity and the Taoist immortal realm. Such pavilions were often built by scholars to commemorate the act of releasing captive birds as a gesture of spiritual merit and freedom. Spurring Horse Slope original: "Cema Po." A steep section of the mountain path. The name suggests a point where a rider would need to urge their horse forward to manage the incline.
