This section of the collection consists of a blank textile support A fabric backing, often made of silk or linen, used to reinforce and provide a stable surface for fragile manuscript leaves. which has been stretched and secured over a wooden frame.
The material shows a distinct vertical fold in the center, and clear evidence of stitching is visible along the left and right wooden supports where the fabric is attached.
At the top edge, there are faint modern markings:
11 x 11 1/2 original: "11 x 11 1/2"; these are likely modern measurements in inches added by a conservator or librarian to record the dimensions of the frame.
No historical Chinese characters or illustrations are present on this specific mounting surface, which serves as a protective and structural component for the manuscript scrolls.
