Phthi is admitted with a long vowel; certainly, they are not lacking in analogy with mastir and mastira. Indeed, mastikteira is forbidden from being written in the verse of Aeschylus by the anapaestic system. Some did not wrongly conjecture mnasteira remembrancer, as mnamon menis mindful wrath is in Agamemnon 143. Yet it seemed that masteira tracker should be preserved, which could be conveniently explained: see the note to line 146.
