The proof that the manuscript is copied from A can most easily be demonstrated by the Capitulatio Table of Contents; apart from the fact that the Kephalaia chapters/chapter headings standing before each book in the Vaticanus agree most precisely with A, it also follows A in that it repeats the Kephalaia in the text itself in the margin: this is a peculiarity by which A distinguishes itself from all other old manuscripts. These content summaries in the margin also show the same text in the Vat. as in A. Spot checks of the text itself confirm the result and prove at the same time, through the errors occurring in the Vat., that it is the copy and not the original.
pp. 6.18–8.9; 10.11–28.10. Of the agreements with A, I note only the cases in which the reading of A is singular: 6.20 ὑποσχήσειν to promise. 8.4 ὁδόν way added. 10.20 πρῶτον καὶ μόνον first and only. 12.21 οἱ ἀπὸ τῆς those from the. 14.4 ἀπένειμον they assigned. 16.7 ἐπεὶ; ὅταν — παραφαίνηται since; whenever — appears; 12/13 ὡσανεὶ τοῦ πρῶ ὑπάρχοντα δύναμιν καὶ σοφίαν καὶ τὰ δευτερεῖα as if existing from the first, power and wisdom and the second places. 22.11 ἐκδεδώκεσαν they had published; 16 ἑαυτοὺς themselves; 18 αὐτοὺς them added; 22 κόρος satiety; 24.6 τῇ to the; 7 ἀνέκαθεν ἐξ; τοῦτο added; 8 τε and omitted; 10 μυστικῶν mystical; 11 τὰσ added; 14 ἡμέρωτο τὰ the... were tamed; 20 ἀρρήτων ineffable. 26.5 τὴν ἐπὶ πᾶσιν the [God] over all.
Deviations from A: 24.20 the variant gr. areton virtues, which is noted in A by the first hand in the margin, is missing; 21.14 αὐτῶ for ἔμπροσθεν αὐτοῦ before him [Bible quote]. That the Vat. knows nothing of the dogmatic improvements with which a young corrector has devastated the text of A on the first pages is self-evident: it is of value here to establish the first hand of A with certainty.

A deviation from A is not found in the piece.
