An engraving of a male head in profile, facing right, set within a cracked oval stone frame. The figure has thick, curly hair adorned with a wreath of ivy leaves. On the left side of the oval frame, the name "CHYNDONAX" is inscribed following the curve of the border. Below the main image area is a dedication in cursive script.
CHYNDONAX Chyndonax was the name of a supposed Gallic Druid priest whose funeral urn was allegedly discovered in Dijon, France, in 1598. William Stukeley adopted this name as a Druidic pseudonym for himself, believing it represented a high priest of the ancient British religion.
