A central bookplate is mounted on a rectangular slip of paper. The emblem consists of an oval with a blue background. In the center, a white pelican is shown in her piety, a traditional symbol where the mother bird feeds her young with her own blood. She is perched on a nest and pecks her breast to provide for three chicks. Above the pelican, a golden sun with radiating rays shines down. Below the nest is a white coat of arms featuring five red roses. These roses are arranged in a 2-1-2 pattern, which is often associated with the Rosicrucian brotherhood. The oval is encircled by a white border with the inscription: Hermetic Philosophy original: "PHILOSOPHIA · HERMETICA"; Hermeticism is a philosophical and religious tradition based on the writings attributed to Hermes Trismegistus.
