A circular emblem or bookplate is centered on a white label. The central image depicts a pelican in its piety, wounding its breast to feed its young in a nest. This is a common alchemical symbol for the "Great Work" and the sacrifice required to perfect the Stone. The nest rests upon a cubic pedestal featuring a saltire cross with four roses in the angles. Gold rays shine down upon the scene from above. This central motif is enclosed in an oval frame with a blue background, which is itself surrounded by a wider circular border containing the words "Hermetic Philosophy."
