The engraved frontispiece is divided into several sections. At the top, a decorative banner contains the title text. Below the banner, the main panel depicts a detailed alchemical laboratory scene. On the left, various tiered furnaces and distillation apparatuses are stacked. In the center-left, two men, one wearing a turban and traditional robes, examine a glass flask. In the lower-left foreground, a figure is crouched or kneeling, tending to an open, glowing furnace door. To the right, shelves are filled with diverse jars and vessels, while an alchemist works at a table. Through a central archway, a background workshop is visible with more figures and large equipment. The bottom section of the page features a separate landscape engraving showing scenes of labor and extraction. On the left, workers use pickaxes near a rocky outcropping; in the center, a man pushes a wheelbarrow; and on the right, figures work near a body of water with mountains in the far distance.
