A copperplate engraving shows a bust length portrait of Fortunatus Greppi. He is depicted with short powdered hair or a wig, wearing a fur collared coat and a sash over a waistcoat. The image is enclosed in an oval frame resting on a large stone pedestal. An oak branch with acorns is draped on the left side of the frame. On the right, a heraldic griffin stands upright. A circular Latin inscription is visible within the border of the frame. The face of the pedestal contains a four line poem.
original: "D. Cagnoni sculp. Mediol." This indicates the plate was engraved by Domenico Cagnoni in Milan.
