Nurmah. Are Theosophists and Rosicrucians the same thing?—
Danisch. One and the same, and almost a single doctrine. There are various sects among them, but they agree on the main point—namely, the investigation of secret sciences. To be sure, no longer with the skeptical doubt that alone befits us mortals, but instead they cling with the most unyielding, blindest faith to miraculous delusions delusions: "Schwärmereyen," a term frequently used during the Enlightenment to criticize irrational religious fervor or fanatical imagination that are raised far above the sphere of human understanding, or are quite simply impossible. Among all sectarians, Sire, the Theosophist is the most difficult to dissuade from his opinions, and truly! With what weapons should a philosopher fight against these people, who refuse to argue with those natural ones—those of reason?—
