This painting represents an Assembly Tree original: Tshogshing, also known as a Refuge Tree. It is a complex Tibetan Buddhist painting original: Thangka that serves as a visual representation of the lineage of teachings and the various deities within the tradition.
The composition centers on a primary figure seated in a meditative posture on a throne. Surrounding this central figure is a vast assembly of hundreds of smaller figures. These are systematically arranged in horizontal rows and clusters that fill most of the frame. These figures likely represent the following groups:
At the top of the painting, there are three distinct arched sections. Each contains one or more prominent figures set against a celestial background. The entire scene is enclosed within a dark rectangular border. This is further framed by a lighter margin that mimics the traditional silk mounting of a hanging scroll original: Thangka.
Because of the high-contrast nature of this reproduction, the specific identification marks and the small name labels located under the figures are completely obscured and cannot be read.
