Published by THE AMERICAN SWEDENBORG PRINTING AND PUBLISHING
SOCIETY, organized for the purpose of stereotyping, printing, and
publishing uniform editions of the theological writings of EMANUEL
SWEDENBORG, and incorporated in the State of New York in the year 1850.
Stereotyping: A printing process common in the 19th century where a solid metal plate was cast from a mold of a page of type. This allowed a publisher to print "uniform editions" (identical copies) over many years without having to reset the individual pieces of type for every new print run.
