progressing equally with the Finites, and so on, in a certain order and succession.
The series of these several subjects will be found in the work itself, as follows: On the means of attaining to a True Philosophy. On the first simple or first natural Point. On the first Finite. On the second Finite. On the third Finite. On the fourth Finite. On the fifth Finite. On the pure material Finite, or water.
With respect to the Actives, the series is as follows: On the Active of the Point. On the Active of the first Finite. On the Actives of the second and third Finite. On the Actives of the fourth and fifth Finite, or on fire.
With respect to the Elements, the series is as follows: On the first or most universal Element. On the second or Magnetic Element. On the third Element, or the Ether. On the fourth Element, or the Air. On the fifth product similar to the Elements, or on water vapor original: "Aqueous Vapour". Here, we finally show that in every drop of water is contained every single thing which had previously existed from the first Simple, as well as the whole category of Finites, Actives, and Elementaries. Consequently, within a single drop of water is hidden original: "latent" the whole elementary world, both visible and invisible.
Now, since causes and the things they cause are similar to each other—even though they differ in degree and dimension—it follows that nature is consistent with herself. She cannot be different in the larger system or "elementary kingdom" than she is in the smaller; different in the macrocosm original: "macrocosm"; the great world or the universe as a whole. than she is in the microcosm original: "microcosm"; a "little world," referring to a small part that reflects the whole.; or different in a large volume than she is in a single particle. Hence, in an elementary particle, one may see the qualities of the whole volume, and in the volume, the qualities of the particle.
From this, we infer that the sun consists of the Actives which first originate, specifically those of the first and second Finite. This is particularly evident since the sun is the cause of all subsequent changes original: "mutations" and the primary mover original: "first motor" of the things in its series; indeed, other things could not have successively existed except from these first Actives, or from the solar space consisting of them. It follows that the solar vortex and the vortices of the other stars consist of the first and second—and therefore the most universal—Elements. That the sun itself, in the formation of its
