"...for it has been several days since we last went there." They answered, "To hear is to obey!" original: "Sam'an wa Ta'atan" — a common Arabic expression of compliance and all rose to accompany her.
Now, she had stationed two young slave-girls to guard the door of the private room where Anis al-Jalis was staying and told them, "Do not allow anyone to enter and see the young woman." Soon, as the beautiful young woman sat resting in her rooms, the Wazir's son—whose name was Nur al-Din Ali¹—suddenly walked in. He asked about his mother and her attendants, to which the two young slave-girls replied, "They are in the baths original: "Hammam"."
But Anis al-Jalis had heard Nur al-Din Ali's voice from inside and said to herself, "Oh, I wish to Heaven I could see what this youth looks like! The Wazir warned me about him, saying he hasn't left a single virgin in the neighborhood without taking her virginity. By God original: "Allah", I long to see him!"
So she sprang to her feet, still feeling refreshed from her bath. Stepping to the door, she looked at Nur al-Din Ali and saw a youth as beautiful as the full moon; the sight left her breathless with a thousand sighs. The young man also glanced at her, and that look filled his mind with a thousand anxious thoughts; both of them fell instantly into love's trap.
Then he stepped toward the two young slave-girls and shouted at them. They both fled from him and stood at a distance to see what he would do. And look, he walked to the door of the young woman's room, opened it, went inside, and asked her, "Are you the one my father bought for me?" She answered, "Yes."
At that, the youth, who was feeling bold from drinking wine, went up to her and embraced her. He lifted her legs and wrapped them around his waist, and she wound her arms around his neck, meeting him with kisses, murmurs of pleasure, and romantic playfulness. Then they kissed passionately, and finally, he loosened the drawstrings of her trousers and took her virginity abated her maidenhead: took her virginity.
When the two young slave-girls saw their young master go into Anis al-Jalis's room, they cried out and shrieked. As soon as the youth had satisfied his desires with her, he got up and fled, fearing the consequences of his misbehavior. When the Wazir's wife heard the slave-girls' cries, she sprang up and came out of the baths with sweat pouring from her face, saying, "What is this shameful noise in the house?²" Then she went to the two young slave-girls and asked them, saying:
¹ Pronounce "Nooraddeen." This is the Arabic spelling of the name.
² Among Muslims, as previously mentioned, it is considered very disgraceful for the sound of women's cries to be heard by outsiders.
