Think for a moment and recall the various houses or places you visit, and see how the mental vibrations of the inmates original: "inmates"; in this context, it simply means the inhabitants or residents of a house, not prisoners manifest themselves to a visitor.
The low quarters of our cities, the dens of vice and haunts of dissipation dissipation: overindulgence in physical pleasures or wasteful living, vibrate with the character of thought and feeling of those inhabiting them.
