SAMAYASARA

"Sva-samaya" refers to the soul established in its own nature, while those who are absorbed in the effects of Karma Fine matter that attaches to the soul due to its actions and thoughts, determining its future experiences. are "Para-samaya"—those not absorbed in the self, or rather, those absorbed in the "non-self."

Commentary

A soul’s self-absorption is its own natural, real state and is synonymous with "unshakeable bliss." It remains admirable as long as it stays true to the qualities of its own radiant nature. A soul with such high potential should remain faithful to its true essence. To become subject to the bondage of Karma and the miseries it brings is contrary to the soul’s nature. The author wishes to emphasize that we should not crave the miserable unreality of our flawed, worldly lives when we can instead aspire to reach the purity of our highest spiritual status.
