Albrecht Dieterich (1866–1908) was a significant German classical philologist and a close friend of Reitzenstein. His work on folk religion and the Mithras Liturgy was foundational for the "History of Religions School."

R. REITZENSTEIN

Richard Reitzenstein (1861–1931) was a prominent philologist and a key figure in the "History of Religions School" (Religionsgeschichtliche Schule). This group revolutionized Biblical studies by comparing early Christianity to the surrounding mystery cults of the Roman Empire.
