7. History of Sankarib and his two Viziers term: High-ranking political advisors or ministers.
8. History of the Family of the Shah-bandar original: "Schebandad"; a term meaning "King of the Port," a title for a harbor master or consul of Surat.
9. The Lover of the Stars: or, Abu al-Hasan's original: "Abil Hasan's" Story.
10. History of Captain Tranchemont original: "Tranchemont," a French name meaning "Mountain-Slicer" or "Braggart" and his Brave Companions: Debil Hasen's Story.
11. The Dream of Valid Hasan.

¹ This name is not in the Arabic text, and I have puzzled my brains in vain about its origin or meaning.
² This proper name is, I assume, a corruption of "Shawalan" original: "Shawalán", meaning "one falling short." The wife "Oitba" is evidently "Otba" or "Utba."
