It is concluded from the seventh [part] that this is the most true philosophy which Galen, the first in the world, revealed by the spirit of the Lord. And therefore, this devoted science is to be applied to the fruition of the Gospel of Christ, and to evangelical morals, and to the whole mystical body. And thus he concludes, briefly, as one proved from the whole book: having considered how much has been spent, first in worldly philosophies for more than fifteen years upon entering the order, in the most flourishing study at Toulouse, and for more than fifteen others since I entered this order, with much fervor, labor of hand, and conflict within myself—with desperation and vain praise and this human status, both in illustrious studies and in whatever laws—it is possible to redeem the aforementioned work, to restore the aforementioned redeemed [work], and to bring back that which has fallen to hand, so that from it, cohering by the command of Christ, we may worthily enjoy eternal glory. And thus, what the world harmed toward guilt, through the merit of my Christ, will lead to eternal life.
