On the Consideration of the Quintessence

the work is hindered by the living evangelical,
[he] increased by evangelical lot, and what was lost in
youth he restored again, and he regains the souls
of the living. But in that same study,
that which is more wholesome, which is done in the whole way,
and how this might be done.

First Canon

This is that upon which all have labored,
seeking a created thing suitable for the use of men
which might be able to make a corruptible body
equally persevere; consucta? if a thing can
be perpetuated, it is necessary that this be that which all possess
[and] desire, and no one [wishes] to be corrupted or to die, as the
first catholic philosopher, the great Paul, says in
his 2nd Epistle to the Corinthians, chapter 5: "For we who are in the
tabernacle of the body groan, being burdened
by infirmities; for we do not wish to be despoiled
of the body, but to be clothed over by the body itself, that we may not
die, but that what is mortal may be suddenly absorbed
by life." This is Paul. Since
few have arrived at such knowledge of such a thing,
it must be seen that, for this reason, in the
intermediate times, those who burn with a desire for money
and honor through money, nothing of such a kind
could be conferred upon any magnate in those times,
nor can they, nor did God wish that the avaricious should know.
