your body and the essences of the sun and moon influence the metals toward the solitudes which are the fifth [essences] of each [sign] of Aries, just as it is in the excerpted medical books that contribute to the body. And the same must be said of others, and then you will make them shine with the rays of the sun, the moon, and the stars, God willing, rightly to be made into marvels upon the earth, which I will teach you to consider.

so that its marvelous influence

of life and health may be increased.

On the mastership of the fifth essence gilded,

first part.

Do not consider me a liar, Paul, concerning what is said about the fifth essence and burning water, for I have said that no one among the philosophers and physicians of today has arrived at it with common burning water, and in the matters which I have truly stated. For the mastership of the fifth essence is hidden, and we have not seen any among the philosophers and theologians who understood it, on account of a defect of the mastership.
