The photograph shows the spine of a historical leather-bound book. The binding consists of brown leather with several raised bands that divide the spine into compartments. Each compartment features a small, gold-stamped floret or star-shaped emblem. There are remnants of white paper labels or adhesive residue on several compartments, notably at the far left and right ends and in one of the middle sections. These likely held library shelfmarks or identification numbers that are no longer legible.
