An elaborate architectural title-page engraving. The central text is framed by a classical structure. At the top is a broken pediment containing a central trophy of armor and weapons, flanked by two seated female allegorical figures. Below this is a winged lion's head and heavy garlands of fruit. The vertical sides of the frame feature two standing bearded male figures in classical robes. The bottom section includes an ornate cartouche containing the publication information, supported by scrollwork and lion paws. Small flaming urns sit atop the corners of the structure.
In which are contained various and industrious movements, worthy of the greatest contemplation original: "Speculatione"; in the Renaissance, this suggested deep intellectual study or theoretical observation, to derive infinite benefit in every kind of operation;
