A copperplate engraving features a central oval portrait of Maurice, Prince of Orange. He is depicted in a three-quarter view with a trimmed beard and a formal ruff collar. The oval frame contains Latin text. Above the portrait, two winged cherubs blow trumpets. The base of the portrait is surrounded by military trophies. These include cannons, barrels of gunpowder, drums, pikes, flags, and a suit of armor. These elements reflect his role as a military leader. A decorative lion's head mask is positioned at the bottom center of the oval frame.
